Theses

This is to enable you to look at my MPhil and PhD theses. They are both about making connections between the Bible or Biblical Theology and our contemporary world of Building and Built Environment.

A good definition of theology is ‘Faith seeking understanding’.  Over the years I had had faith that in practice I was connecting the two. But I didn’t know I was and I certainly didn’t know how to demonstrate connectedness is an academically robust way.

The MPhil takes some important building industry issues and walks them through appropriate parts of the Bible, setting up a kind of dialogue.

The PhD takes two specific Built Environments, one in England and one in Tasmania , Australia and sets up a dialogue with parts of the Bible different from those used in the MPhil.

The overall outcome is that I’m now satisfied that we can read the Bible and our contemporary domains of Building and Built Environment sensibly and usefully in relation to each other.
